Mocha Torte Dessert

  • 1 chocolate cake mix

  • cup chocolate chipits - semi sweet

  • 2 tbsp hot water

  • 2 tsp instant coffee powder

  • cup granulated sugar

  • pt whipping cream (or dessert topping)

Prepare cake according to instructions
Bake in two 8" greased cake pans lined with waxed paper
Slice each cake in layers so that you have 4 layers in total
Combine the chipits, water, coffee and sugar in a small heavy saucepan
Heat, stirring until smooth, then cool
Whip cream until it starts to thicken, add chocolate mixture, and beat until stiff
Spread between the four layers and on top of torte, then chill at least 1 hour
Decorate with chocolate shavings
Serves 10-12 and enjoy
