Streusel filled Coffee Cake

1½ cups flour
-
¾ cup sugar

2½ tsp baking powder
-
¾ tsp salt
-
¼ cup shortening
-
¾ cup milk
-
1 egg
Streusel topping
Blend all ingredients and beat hard for ½ minute
Put half batter in greased 8X8" cake pan
Sprinkle half the topping
Add the rest of the batter and cover with the remaining topping
Bake 25-30 minutes in a preheated 375F oven
